Webster Clinic is a private-pay practice. We set our fees so that nothing about your care is decided by an insurance company — not the length of your appointments, not their frequency, not what we talk about, and not who reads your record.
FIRST
Initial psychiatric consultation
$1250
Your initial consultation appointment is 80-minutes and ongoing appointments are a full clinical hour with your psychiatrist, psychotherapy and medication expertise from the same person, in the same room. Not a fifteen-minute medication check.
Using your out-of-network benefits
We are out-of-network with all insurance plans, and we make reimbursement as simple as it can honestly be made. Each month you'll receive a superbill — an itemized statement with everything your insurer needs — which you submit for reimbursement. Most patients who submit receive payment within two to six weeks.
What you'll get back depends on your plan, and we'd rather you know how this works than be surprised: PPO plans typically include out-of-network mental health benefits; HMO plans generally do not. Reimbursement usually begins after you've met your plan's separate out-of-network deductible, and it's calculated as a percentage of your plan's "allowed amount" for psychiatric services — which may differ from our fee. Many of our patients with PPO plans have recovered 50 to 80 percent of their costs; others recover less. HSA and FSA funds may be used for psychiatric care regardless of your plan type.
Five questions that will tell you exactly what your plan covers
Call the member-services number on your insurance card and ask:
Does my plan cover out-of-network outpatient mental health care?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met this year?
What percentage of the allowed amount do you reimburse for out-of-network psychiatric services?
What is your allowed amount for a psychiatric evaluation and for follow-up visits? (Our office will give you the exact procedure codes to read to them.)
How do I submit a superbill, and how long does reimbursement typically take?
If any answer is confusing, bring it to us. Our office manager walks patients through this every week and we have a general reimbursement guide as well.

Nothing is billed to any insurer unless you choose to submit a superbill yourself. Your records stay here.
